The
historic T-Bone Ranch, located in the beautiful San Luis
Valley of Southern Colorado, is the new home for Cowboys for
Kids. At our ranch, Cowboys for Kids is offering programs to
our children such as equine therapy; ranch and rodeo based
educational clinics and classes, cowboy and cowgirl summer
camps, and confidence building programs utilizing our horses
and livestock. The T-Bone Ranch consists of over 3,000 acres
of deeded land available for ranch use. The T-Bone
is a “working ranch” with over 170 horses and 400 head of
white-faced Hereford cattle on the property. The original
adobe ranch house, built in the late 1800s has been
remodeled and has nine bedrooms available to guests and
members. There are additional bungalows and outbuildings
available for sleeping accommodations. The Conejos River
runs through the property less than 200 yards from the ranch
house. The snowcapped San Juan Mountains are nearby in the
west, and the Sangre de Cristos are to the east. Many of the
early cattle drives in the 1800s were staged at the T-Bone.
The ranch is 45 minutes from Taos, New Mexico, and is a
short distance from the Great Sand Dunes National Monument.
